KATHLEEN JO RYAN
Kathleen Jo Ryan is an award-winning photographer,
multimedia producer, and filmmaker who has produced
five lavish photographic books (125,000 sold), four one-
woman photographic exhibitions, and nationally televised
documentaries. Kathleen has devoted her professional
career and artistic efforts to celebrating life through her
soulful and stunning photography, particularly her first
love — the landscape and people of the American West.
Her works include: Ranching Traditions: Legacy of the
American West book and companion video Ranching
with Charlie Daniels; Texas Cattle Barons: Their Families, Land & Legacy and companion book, Deep in the Heart of Texas: Texas Ranchers in Their Own Words; Writing Down the River: Into the Heart of the Grand Canyon, winner of the Willa Cather Literary Award, Best Memoir/Essay, and nationally televised companion documentary; and Irish Traditions.

Her most current project she co-produced with her brother, John Ryan; a one-hour documentary, Right to Risk, that chronicles a 15-day, 225-mile whitewater rafting adventure through the Grand Canyon by eight individuals with disabilities. In October 2007, the Ryans were honored with The Secretary's Highest Recognition Award by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to honor people making a difference in the lives of persons with disabilities.
